Amazing Wings ... somewhat pricey for tex/mex
Austin Grill is local chain expanding over the DC / Baltimore area. The decor and atmosphere of the place is makes it a nice place to have a fun meal, however the nightly bands performing can make it difficult to hold a casual conversation.
Be sure to order the wings! They’re not your traditional chicken wings, they’re dry-rubbed with spices and grilled. During happy hour (2 pm to 7 pm and 10 pm to close) they have baskets of wings for $3 (as well as baskets of tacos, quesadilla, burgers), goes well with a $4.75 margarita.
The entrees are somewhat pricey when compared to other tex/mex chains but the food comes out good. It’s your standard tex/mex fare, but Austin Grill does a good job, though service can be spotty at times.
Parking is convienent parking in the Wayne Avenue garage and walking to the row of restaurants on Ellsworth. Free garage parking after 6 pm M-Th, 5 pm on Fri, and on weekends / holidays. Other times only 50 cents an hour.
