Out of my price range, not a lot of vegetarian offerings

I don’t forsee me going back, but I’m glad I went. Its not the type of place I look for, but it was near Jacob Javitz where I needed to go and just a couple of blocks from Madison Square and Penn Station. There’s nothing cheap around here, and this was a homey, not touristy place. I spent more on this meal than I have spent on any one meal since I’ve been in New York, but I’m fasting for 24 hours, so I needed to eat a lot. The portion size was generous. They brought bread and butter, nothing to write home about – not made fresh – standard diner bread.

This is a bar atmosphere with a restaurant. They had the Knicks playing Toronto. Sat at tables next to bar. It was a slow night – only one other table of people, and another group sitting with the owner at the bar and the waitress talked with them.

They were friendly. Atmosphere was loungy, with candles on the table.

What I ate:

Because I’m a vegetarian, I had it without the salmon and they may have given me a double portion, it was gigantic. Very thick cream sauce, it could have been a soup – very good. Came with capers. Definitely a good fettucine that lined my stomach and hopefully will last me for more than 12 hours.
