I’ve been here several times before but last night, for some reason, we just got really bad service. But first things first, I ordered the Basil Fried Rice, didn’t like it much. (Yummy Thai by UIC has the best I’ve had!) The pad thai tastes like it has ketchup; spring rolls and beef pad see ew are decent.

The many times I’ve gone here I’ve had no complaints about the service. Oh wait, let me take that back… there was one time when my friends and I requested mildly spicy but got either really spice or not at all spicy. But maybe it was our fault ‘coz we were making too many hand gestures while the server was taking our order.

Perhaps the server we got was a newbie. First of all, we weren’t given napkins so I had to ask for them but I can deal with that. Secondly, our server knocked over a glass full of water, though she apologized she didn’t clean it up but just left it there (I guess for my friend and I to clean up because she did give us three pieces of napkins w/o us having to ask for them this time). Then I asked to have my food wrapped to go and she gave me a box for my food, which was okay. But later on I noticed when other people asked for their food to go, their food was wrapped up for them—I just thought selective service. Finally, granted I did sign the receipt and everything but clearly my friend was still not done with her food (fork in hand and everything), our server asked if she could take away my friend’s plate. It wasn’t packed in there nor have we been there for a long time, so I just thought it was impolite to ask to take away the plate.

I’ll probably still go back just because it’s the only Thai restaurant I know of in the area and I’m frequently in that area. Too bad for bad service.

It’s an okay restaurant. I like the PadThai dish at Oriental Noodles but they moved to another place.
