just another restaurant
I came here for late night dinner with my friend after the mariners lost to the red sox.. Sat in the bar section… it took FOREVER before someone came to serve us.
I always watched the commercials on how the food looks so delicious and how it’s a fun and upbeat environment, but when I got there it was just boring (I guess people in kirkland don’t eat after 10?)…
Other than that, I just thought the food was just so so…

eye candy, not tummy candy
The beauty of TGI Friday’s is that, like most chains, they serve up a fairly consistent experience across different locations. So when I came to this TGI I knew to expect a large, dark woody atmosphere with a sports bar in the middle of the restaurant. I also expected to be served decent food, in large portions. It turns out I was wrong on the last point – TGI Friday’s now serves smaller-sized portions to appease the health-conscious diner, though they’re listed right alongside the deep fried mac & cheese…
Onto the things that stood out about this TGI Friday’s location:
- inaccessibility. it’s located on the upper level of a strip mall, with the main entrance far, far away from any stairs or escalators. be prepared to walk.
- eye candy. maybe it was the timing of a warm summer evening, but there were a lot of attractive people around, both inside and outside the restaurant. it could have been the proximity to a hot yoga studio and a 24-hour fitness center. it’s a plus in my book.
Would i go back again? Sure, if my stomach wasn’t feeling demanding, but my eyes were.

Dragonfire Chicken
A bland-tasting kung pao sauce over grilled chicken and brown rice. The best part was the chicken and the pineapple garnish – I could do without the sauce.
