3.0This is my second time coming to Ba-Ba-Reeba for dinner. The first time I came w/ a group of 10 and this time w/ group of 5. It was definitely much better and more fun with large group because you get to try a much wider selections. You get a tiny bite of everything and each dish gets so much more delicious. Agree with the previous review that the dish is on the pricier side for dinner. One thing I didn’t like as much is that the dishes don’t come out at the same time so usually we have to eat one small tapa dish at a time and we wil be waiting for the next one. Overall, the tapas are pretty good. Generally I perferred the hot tapas over the cold ones. Most of the desserts are pretty delicious and the passion fruit sangria is something good to start out the dinner with. The ambience is definitely lively and loud. The stream of people just kept flowing in on a saturday night. I would recommend making reservation ahead of times.
A good dish to fill one’s stomach if the small tapas can’t satisfy you. It comes out hot on an iron plate and they transfer it to a plate in front of you. Chicken is well done and pretty tasty overall.
I really like the scallops. They are very tender, fresh and go well with the pinenuts.
Good combination of sweet dates with bacon. We all love it on the first visit that we ordered 2 plates this time. However, the bacon was a little over done and a bit too oily this round.
This dish came out like 5 min after we ordered. Pretty good if you like mushroom.
Could be more crispy. Average compare to many other restaurant’s fried calamari.

4.0My second time here… and each time I come, this place is packed (even on a Thursday night!). I was surprised again at how many people this place could hold with all its nooks and crannies. You’re almost afraid to let the waiter/waitress go anywhere cuz you’re not sure when they’ll return, but the service was pleasant and timely. I really appreciated the waitress making personal favorite recommendations.
One thing we found funny was that we could not order alcohol for our 30 year old foreign friend because the only foreign ID he had with him lacked a birthdate. We understood the proper formality of carding, but the waitress actually asked for a PASSPORT instead!! Hahaha – it was hilarious! Good times overall.
Btw, we all had a little snack before coming because we knew about the priciness – smart move thanks to the previous reviews!! :)
you can confuse the chicken with artichoke so look carefully!
always a crowd pleaser
first time having this – YUMMY! pinenuts/couscous combo was very satisfying.
cake topped with vanilla ice cream, rum, tres leche – mmmm. get your own dessert – they come in tiny portions!

2.0Of all the tapas places in the city, this isn’t the one to visit. The prices are very expensive for really mediocre food in small samples. The bacon wrapped dates are great and so are the spciy potatoes, but the sangria needs help and so does the service.

5.0Had a great meal there. There server was pretty good and the food was great. It is amazing how many people go there. The summer time is rocking when you have the patio open and sunny. Great after a cubs game or during a birthday dinner.
Nice and smoky. Really enjoyed the flavor and the richness of the dish. If you order it though, do it right when you sit down, because it can take a long time to serve.
These things are really good. I can’t imagine they are good for the waste line, but the flavor is worth running and extra 1/2 mile or so. No dipping sauce needed.
This was good, but seemed like the cheese was not as flavoriable as in the past. They give you plenty of bread to enjoy every drop of it. The red sauce is a mix of flavors that complements the cheese. Great appetizer for all.
this was my only less then great experience. this dish was a bit blan when normally the eggplant is excellent. I will order it again next time hoping that it was just a one time event.

5.0The seafood and mixed paellas are delicious here! Sangria (red, white and other flavors) is flowing and yummy – perfect mix of fruitiness and wine. The tapas are what makes this place memorable. When in doubt, get all the highlighted menu options (from both cold and hot tapas). Don’t miss the patatas bravas – potatoes may seem simple, but the spicy dipping sauce is to die for! The meat dishes are also delicious, especially the ribs and the lamb.

09/13/2006ok, so i may have been a little harsh in my initial review. i’ve been told they have $2 happy hour, so that could well be worth a trip to babareeba. who knows…maybe i’ll give it another try.
