Cafe Juanita used to be a hidden gem off of the then pebbled road. They’ve remained modest, however, as the concrete (condos, paved roads) grew around them. The same friendly staff greet you upon entering the restaurant and provide you with impeccable service throughout your meal. Though I don’t always know what’s been put into a dish, the ingredients all come together so nicely, fresh and flavorful. Make room for dessert! You won’t be disappointed by Cafe Juanita.

so we came back again… and they remembered us… again with no reservations and we stayed past the closing time… they did not rush us with the bill until we asked for it. There are some restaurants that rush the bill out as it reaches closing time. This is not one of them…

This time ordered the duck breast entree, octopus appetizer, quail and cippolini onion appetizer… the recommended glass of wine for the night was lagone.

I ordered the chocolate truffle cake again, but instead of having mint gelato, due not being in season they served a malt gelato instead. this replacement gelato tasted like the asian drink, Horlic.

we came here ordered the rabbit, the “fish” of the day which was from the mediteranian as described by the waiter that it’s like a sea bass. (look at pictures for reference).

For appetizer, we ordered the Carne Cruda of Wagyu Beef with Parmigiano Reggiano.

For Dessert, we ordered Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with Grains of Paradise Spiced Apricots

and

Pralus Chocolate Truffle Cake with Ninety Farms Stracchiatelle Gelato and Cherry Vinegar Reduction

I really liked the chocolate cake, you can taste the strong chocolate and the mint gelato was very minty! not like anything you’d find at the grocery store!

And to accompany the fish, I had a glass of Nebbiolo which was a great match.

came here on saturday evening for dinner with friends… I ordered the wagyu beef cheek which was very rich and tender. our server knew the menu very well and could tell us what was ingredients were used and little bit of history regarding each dishes….
Apart from our server, the service as a whole is very good. Our table was ready for us when we got there, they have a seperate water boy who will make sure how glasses are never empty… Our wine glasses were never empty either.

The only thing I didn’t really like was the spacing of the tables. Though I understand it’s a small restaurant, I didn’t like how closely spaced the tables were. It didn’t feel private enough between each parties…
