Lobster!!
This was the first place I had lobster on my New England adventure. The lines are long for the ordering “shack” and then you head out to find a picnic table along the water.
I had the New England Seafood Feast which begins with Clam Chowder and Shrimp in the Rough followed by a heaping bowl of Steamers and Mussels, topped off with an Abbott’s Steamed Lobster (1-1/4 lb). All accompanied by potato chips, coleslaw and drawn butter. The items are served in course with the Clam Chowder and Shrimp, then the bowl of Steamers and Mussels and lastly the Steamed Lobster. Everything was very good and nothing was gritty. They say that it is “A feast you’ll not soon forget” and they are right. It was around $33.00.
My Husband had the Oven Roasted Half Chicken (doesn’t do seafood- unless you pick it for him). It said it wasn’t bad for a Lobster Rough/Pound.
The atmosphere was pleasant and calm. The food does take some time to some but that is expected with the amount of people and types of food. One thing that is interesting is the clothes line type lines above you head to control and keep away the gulls. So after touring Mystic, CT stop by for some Lobster!
