I’ve been there for the first time since 05 or so and didn’t feel very satisfied. Definitely a very limited selection, and, like somebody already said, very limited premium cuts of fish available. The actual sushi wasn’t that great either. Not sure if I’d suggest this place again, but if the group is going, I’d go again. No wonder now they take prime card.
small and fair value
It’s an alternative option to sushiland as sushiland is almost always packed. The parking for yama is much better too. Although it lacks variety, the presentation of the dish is more creative than sushiland.
In comparision with sushiland, I feel the restaurant is cleaner, the people at the restaurant more friendly.

Cheap, and Fair
I’ve tried a few kaiten sushi places around the area and sushi-yama is pretty good. The staff is friendly (and mostly Japanese), the service can be slow when it’s busy but the chefs are easy to talk to and get the orders you’re looking for. The fish is fair, though I’ve had some great pieces here and there. Every so often they’ll have some toro or other good premium pieces. Their plates have bar codes which I assume they use to monitor how long it’s been rotating, as there is a reader in the back it passes through. They also do some fried rolls which are pretty tasty, even if I’m not traditionally a fan of them. If I’m in that area it’s where I go for quick rotating sushi.
Parking is somewhat limited, though after the other businesses on the block close it opens up.
