Average Japanese Steakhouse
The food here is okay. The usual . . hibachi, sushi, take out. I tried the vegetable teriyaki lunch box. It was okay all around, nothing I’d crave. I went once and haven’t been back – there are better Japanese restaurants around (Ichiban and Tai Sho come to mind).

Food is OK, Service Can be Poor
The fare on the Hibachi side is generally good. Sometimes they make a whole party wait until the entire table has been seated before starting; the wait has been up to 30 minutes. The salad dressing and noodles are very good. The whole crew is never very friendly, and the service (other than the cooks) is often lacking. It feels like they just want you in and out, with as little fuss as possible.

Dinner & a Show!
I have been to other A1’s in PA and I must say that this one was not my favorite. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated in the Japanese theme, but the food did not hold up so well. At these Japanese restaurants, hibachi is the way to go. Anyone who has been to one before knows that the food is only as good as the show that is performed in front of you. I think that we must have gotten the “new” kid because I think that I could have done a better job. You expect to see the same tricks almost every time…but personality is KEY! The food was cooked well, but it was definitely not the star this night!
