mediocre korean food

I see Berkel Berkel all the time, and I finally decided to check it out. It’s an order first, and sit down type restaurant. They are like a Korean restaurant-lite, in that they give a couple appetizers, while usual ones give a bunch.

I ordered the spicy pork dish. It comes with rice, a salad, and a potato tempura-type thing. It comes with a decent amount of meat, although I felt the meat was lower in quality than many other places I have been. If I want to eat OK korean food, I will go to Steve’s down the street, where they give you like two times more food. The potato dish was alright, and complements the spiced meat flavor with a slightly bland taste. My friend got the BBQ chicken dish, and that turned out bad for him. The bigger pieces of meat were undercooked, and borderline raw on the inside. That’s super weak. They took it back and cooked it fully, but still. They also gave him some IOU note so he can get a free meal next time he comes.

Some other dishes looked tasty, like the noodles, but I didn’t try them. I was somewhat disappointed though, with what I ate. I’d look somewhere else if you want good Korean food.

The pork was OK, and didn’t have enough of that tasty spicy Korean flavor. The meat quality was underwhelming too. The side dishes were also quite weak.
