Heard from a credible source that Raymond Lenzner’s two cousins bought the shuttered restaurant and plan to renovate and reopen it.
This place was known by all the locals and if you were from out of town and found this place you never forgot it and always went back!
They’ve been around since shortly after prohibition was lifted and were known far and wide as the “Rat”.
Their signature order of fries consisted of a dinner plate heaped 10 inches high with shoestring fries cut and fried to order. The steaks were equally impressive and there were always leftovers to take home.
So if the rumor is accurate, next time your in the area, look them up.
