One of my favorite places to eat. Inside you’ll find tasty, authentic and a friendly staff. I highly recommend the Chef Alan’s American Bistr – a $30 medley of dishes that can feed 2 or 3 people. If you’ve never tried , this is a great place to start. You won’t be disappointed!

We live in the Washington DC area, but visit Reading about twice a year. Chef Allen’s is always on our list of places to go. The food is great, the prices are reasonable, and the help is helpful!
It is so nice to support a restaurant that isn’t part of a chain.

The atmosphere is pleasant for a family dinner. We had the feuccine alfredo with vegetables and they added a nice amount of fresh vegetables. We also had a pizza with feta and spinach which was also tasty. It is neither stunning nor bad— in general we would say better than average. Portion sizes were a decent size. The menu is kind of standard for a family restaurant in terms of types of food. As vegetarians we felt there were plenty of choices.
Had a nice amount of varied and fresh vegetables. The sauce was decent (it didn’t seem to come from a jar, but then it also didn’t seem super fancy).

We had a hard time deciding what to try, there were alot of good choices. All of our meals were well prepared and were very happy with the food and service.
Seasoned and prepared just right. Very tasty and fresh.
