A bit on the expensive side, but decently tasty
I drove about 20 min to get here to try this place out. To simply put it, it wasn’t really worth the drive. If you live around there and crave for a good toro (which I’ll talk about below), it’s not a bad choice. Otherwise, it’s nothing really special.
They do not have a meal set. They do have cooked food but they are all a la carte. They seem to be focusing on small dishes (that aren’t necessarily the typical small dishes that you can find in izakayas), and are not cheap.
When I want to eat good Japanese food, I usually expect to get whatever amount of rice that I want at the minimum. This place wasn’t a place like that.
The ambience is ok, but the sushi chef was pretty friendly. If I go back, perhaps I should put my focus on sushi only…but then I’d have to be ready to spend lots of money.
Dishes I tried:
Unagi Chirashi
This is basically a variation of una-ju (unagi don). The unagi is served cold over sushi rice. Not bad, but not all that to-die-for.
Toro
This was probably the best item that I tried here. It was actually very tasty and “melty”. I’d get this again if I go back.
