Best lunch buffet I’ve had in Manhattan. At $13.95, it’s a bit more expensive than the Curry Hill options, but the offerings are fresher and more interesting. Plus they bring fresh naan and other appetizers to your table.

My sister and I ate there on a Monday night. Surprisingly busy given the economy.

As a preface, my sister and I have lived in Pakistan and otehr countries, love eating out and cooking Palistani/Indian food. My sister lives in Manhattan, just a few streets away from Chola. She eats out often.

First thing I noticed was the nice layout and lack of curry residue smell. Service was good.

Had a yogurt and dumpling appetizer, dahi ballad. Mediocre at best. No real flavor.

We split a main course of chicken tikka. Well presented, chicken looked great, very tender. However, it was perhaps the blandest chicken I have ever had. If you closed your eyes and pressed your tongue against the chicken, you could barely get a glimmer of the potential.

The naan bread was a little bland as well.

My sis is not overly critical, but she was the first to mention it was the worst Indian food she has ever had.
