From the Restaurant
Despite Chef Pichet Ong’s pedigree as a world renowned pastry chef, the menu at P*ONG is decidedly savory, incorporating Pichet’s genius for the innovative use of dessert technique in savory cooking and his critically acclaimed ability to blur the line between sweet and savory. The result is a tantalizing and often surprising mix of flavors, textures, and temperatures. The menu at P*ONG changes regularly to reflect the availability of the freshest and highest quality seasonal ingredients. Pichet prefers to cook naturally and with a minimum of fuss, showcasing the simple but sophisticated marriage of a few key ingredients. Indulge in one of our tasting menus, each course of which is carefully selected and arranged by Pichet to provide the diner with the optimal experience of our cuisine. You may choose from our 3 course dessert tasting, 5 course cheese and dessert tasting, or our 8, 10, or 13 course suite menus. Specially designed wine pairings are available.

So much more than a dessert place. Went...
So much more than a dessert place.
Went last night to P*ong with my mom after reading some mixed reviews on here (people said that for each course, they either hated it or loved it). Every course was excellent, and all of them exceeded expectations. Had the Suite Menu (tasting, 8 courses, $63) — all close to perfect. From the chinese pumpkin/squash soup to the anise-filo with artic char to the final dessert (of three) of chocolate cake and best-sorbet-at-a-restaurant-ever passion fruit sorbet with passion fruit seeds …AMAZING.

The desserts were innovative, but way too non-mainstream for my taste. I got the 3 dessert tasting menu, and the first course was goat cheesecake with berries. Second course was miso tiramisu (which was both salty and sweet). Third course was a chocolate mousse with some salty toppings… I guess if you are in the mood for some very creative pairings, it’s definitely a great spot.
