From the Restaurant
Located in an historic brownstone just a half block from the Kimmel Center, Ernesto's 1521 Cafe has been welcoming theatre patrons & neighbors since 1992. First established as a coffeehouse/art gallery, Ernesto's has gradually evolved into a full service restaurant featuring two dining rooms, a wisteria covered rear patio & sidewalk seating out front. A family affair since it's inception, Livia, Ernesto's mother oversees the kitchen & creates delicious Italian desserts while mentoring Chef Cirilo Pantoja in Italian cuisine. The menu features such classics as cotoletta milanese, osso buco, bucatini all'amatriciana & ravioli di zucca just to name a few. Patrons may enjoy selections from Ernesto's all-Italian wine list or bring their own for a modest $5 per bottle corkage fee
