There are three obvious reasons for Left Bank's popularity: The room has the expansive, happening look of a French brasserie; the food is as good as you'll find anywhere in the Bay area; the prices are moderate with generous portions. Join us for Tuesday Tastings the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Enjoy a featured wine, hor d'oeruves and French cheese for $15. I agree with Danny. Not worth the cost. Last time I went I ordered a coffee drink that came out cool, and then it took a very long time to get it back warm when all that was needed was sticking it in the microwave for a minute.
I've soured on this place. First few times I...
I’ve soured on this place. First few times I went (always to the Menlo Park place) it was solid. Last few times, a couple at Santana Row and most recently again at Menlo Park, it’s been mediocre. Not just fair, but mediocre. I had the steak frites, a basic dish. The frites were fine, but the steak was hard and tasteless. Disappointing, not worth the cost; I doubt I’ll go again.
