a good choice on Highway 99

I came here with a group of about 10 friends for dinner. Ka Won was easily able to seat us and they have room for big groups like this. The interior isn’t terribly impressive, but the food made up for it.

Their seafood pancake was really good, as well as the egg custard and BBQ.

There are plenty of Korean restaurant on 99, but this is a good choice. I still prefer Hosoonyi hands down to any other Korean restaurant, but this is not a bad alternate choice. However, if you want the kimchee soon doo boo, go to Hosoonyi. I was very disappointed with their soon doo boo as it had no spice at all and had little taste.

What I ate:
  • **

Not spicy enough and not enough flavor.

  • *****

    Delicious. A must have.

  • *****

    Light, delicate, and fluffy.

Extras:
I came here for
fun with friends
My meal cost
between $10 and $25
I tipped
between 15% to 18%

I have to eat here regularly

It’s a little hard to find. mostly I recognize it by the sign “Grease Monkey” along the road. I’ve not found a dish here that I do not like yet. Even their little side dishes taste really good. Best of all, I can eat my fill and not spend more than $25. Only downside is I tend to leave my coat in the car when i eat here coz the smell from the bbq lingers on your clothes!

What I ate:
  • *****

My favourite soondubu can be found here. The soup is spicy with lots of soft tofu in it.

  • *****

This serves two. And with the side dishes it’s usually enough for two. The cod is fresh and stir fried with lots of red pepper and soft rice cake.

  • ****

I like fish a lot so i may be biased. But my bf say that it’s a little salty. However, if you eat it with rice it’s fine. The fish is fresh and tender.
