Disappointment at Cee Cee's
Located just two blocks north of Glendale Ave in glendales historic distreict. The settin is quaint in a historic home surrounded by antiques and heavenly sented roses. Once seated the disappointment begins. It is a small family owned mexican restaurant. The service is sporadic. The restaurant seats no more than 30 and there were only two 4 tops seated. I waited no less than 10 minutes to have my drink order taken and another 5 minutes to receive Iced Tea. The menu was very basic, but I ordered, the chile rellenos, rice and beans with a side of chips and salsa. My friends ordered tacos and enchiladas. Three refills of tea later (we had to ask for refills and on one occasion ask a second time because the server forgot). We finally got our chips and salsa (the flavor of the salsa was flat and flavorless with small bits of tomato in a thin red sauce. The chips were right out of the bag The server was young, inattentive, aloof in her way. Didn’t even appoligize for forgetting our refills. Had it not been for the fact we were starving and it was too late to go somewhere else, we would have left. After more than a 50 minute wait, we were disappointed once again. The portions were extremely small and looked and tasted as if they came from a “Patio” frozen mexican dinner. The server forgot our sides of sour cream and guacamole and though they were never brought out, she chared us anyway. I felt uncomfortable from the time I sat down. The atmosphere was that of an old library, quiet and musty. Looking at the antiques helped us pass the time. Overall lunch was a big disappointment! Normally I would give most restaurants a second chance, but in this case….Why???
