The first time I tried coming here was on a Sunday morning, before noon. Too bad, because tons of people were outside and the wait was 1.5-2 hours. Forget that!

Instead I came Tuesday around 11am. The place was full except for one table. Lucky us. (It is a small restaurant, I think it seats less than 40).

I ordered the banana walnut pancakes, and not only did it look good, but it is pretty much the best pancake I’ve ever had. They were light and airy, and the syrup made it even better.

If anyone knows how they do it, please let me know. So I don’t have to fly all the way to NY to have some more.

Weekend brunch is what CSBC does best. Some of their top hits are the peppery, smoked bacon; pancakes; and buttermilk biscuits in any form, be it as an egg sandwich or drowning in country gravy.

Come before 11AM for the first seating, or be subjected to the CSBC wait and be prepared to walk around the LES for 45 minutes to an hour before your table is ready.

This place lived up to the hype. Mouthwatering blueberry pancakes, a great biscuit/eggs, and a nice (if a little too sweet, however) waffle….this place once again proves that NYC is the best place in the world for brunch.

Airy friendly vibe, excellent (albeit slightly pricey) breakfast and muffins, scones, etc. It gets really busy during breakfast & brunch hours, but probably worth a bit of a wait. Highly recommended!

i heard it gets mobbed on weekend brunches, so i ventured out with a friend for a weekday night dinner – and what a treat it was! this is a great american homey meal at best. my burger was delish, the service was awesome, and i just generally liked the vibe. price wasn’t too cheap but hey, it’s the (new) LES!

I avoid it on weekends (because of the maddening crowd) but often frequent it during weekdays. Although best known (and rightly so) for their fluffy pancakes, most of the items on the American menu here are truly fresh and creative.

I’ve tried nearly EVERYTHING in their breakfast/brunch menu and there’s no better place to eat on a lovely morning over the weekend.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Fresh menu which changes with the seasons. Whatever you pick from the menu is guaranteed to be tasty! Perfect portions!
