It was an awesome dining experience. The food was outstanding & the service was impeccable. I cannot wait to go back. If you are a lover of all things Italian, you have to try this place at least once. The salumi melted in my mouth. The neci were wild. The pasta was everything pasta should be. The guinea hen was out of this world. And the desserts…OH the desserts were heavenly, especially the pine nut & honey crostata. Molto Mario is a genius & my HERO!!

only get the pasta when you come here…that’s what they’re known for. Their meat dishes tend to be pretty bland and unexciting

I had a great time at Babbo. The restaurant is very cozy and warm. It doesn’t appear to be a large restaurant based on what I could see from the first floor, but there is a second floor dining area.

We ordered a la carte and not from the fixed prix menu. I thought the gnocci and blackened spaghetti was very good as well as the braised beef. I was surprised with how much food we actually got. The entire dinner party was stuffed and happy.

I used to really like this place, but mainly liked sitting at the bar. My best experiences have been with the pastas. I prefer Esca and Craft over this, though.

When you first enter Babbo you are struck by the incredible aroma and odd choice of music. I have eaten there several times and each time have walked out satisfied and utterly stuffed.

One of my best experiences at the restaurant was on New Years Eve of 2006. Per usual, they had their two tasting menus, as well as a special truffle menu for the evening. We had the pasta tasting menu, which was eight courses of absolute bliss.

I would suggest doing a tasting menu to anyone visiting Babbo for the first time. Some other great a la carte options: carciofi appetizer, grilled octopus appetizer, beef cheek ravioli, osso bucco, chocolate hazelnut cake.

Casual, fun, intimate, generous portions, great flavors from beginning to end. The affogato and biscotti was a perfect finish to a savory meal.

Fresh pasta is so much better.

Babbo is what Italian food is meant to be. We don’t get enough of it in the U.S. Freshly made pasta. Where the sauce is the complement, not the main attraction.
