Cuvee is a great downtown spot for a drink and a sandwich. It sits on Heritage Square and has a small array of good food in a modern but warm environment.
We generally go for the panini: The brisket with blue cheese fondue is consistently great, composed of a chewy roll and moist meat. And the warm, rich melty cheese sauce? I’d eat cardboard dipped in that stuff. The sandwiches (I also like the pork with cheddar and chutney) are served with a nice cous-cous and small green salad, which you can substitute with a crunchy potato salad for a refreshing change of pace.
While we plan on the panini when we go to Cuvee, they also have a tasty set of specials and appetizers (e.g. the cheese plate) that are worth exploring. If you’re up for dessert, the barely baked chocolate cake is a half-molten delight.
And of course there’s a great selection of wine and beer! This includes regular specials and weekly tasting events, such as the weeknight $10 panini and beer, and tastings of food/wine pairings.
You might even learn something about wine, so check out Cuvee. Tell the blue cheese fondue that I said hello.
