Some teppanyaki places aim to entertain guests with circus tricks, few actually aim to serve quality food. Gyu has lots of good stuff (fois gras, lobster, marbelized beef etc), some I’m still reluctant to try due to price.

Unfortunately I can’t call it a healthy meal, otherwise I’d be here far more often. Though the occasional splurge make it much more satisfying.

This restaurant on Alberni is well hidden but definitely worth checking out! The teppanyaki chefs don’t do as much showboating as other restaurants but the food is tastier. Warning: lots of raw garlic so be sure you don’t have a really hot date in the next 24 hours!
