DON'T TAKE YOUR FRIENDS HERE!!!
DO NOT GO HERE!!! Why eat here, when there are much better options out there?
First off, to preface this review, you should know that I am a Thai food connoisseur. I have read about plenty about Thai cooking and as a consultant, I travel a lot, always eating out on my company’s dime. As a result, I have reviewed all the Thai restaurants in some cities.
Thai Chili’s food was bland in my opinion, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE WORST THING ABOUT THIS PLACE. Read below, as I talk about the service. While the flavors were in decent proportion, and if you were to compare it something that is meant to have delicate flavors – then it was delicious. However, Thai food is about sharp contrast in flavors. On a scale of 1 to 10, I ordered 13 as I expected that it may not be spicy enough. Nonetheless, it was still too mild and I needed to add raw Thai chili on top (which I later was charged 2.50 for). Despite my emphasis in my request for intensity, they failed to deliver.
Though the food was not certainly not the worst, and still fairly flavorful and balanced, the SERVICE was simply UNACCEPTABLE. The waitress forgot who ordered what, but worst yet, we went in a group and at the end she refused to split the check. Typically at most restaurants, if you want to split the check into 2 or even 4, some reasonable amount, it is not an issue – that is just good customer service. The manager came out and said we can’t do that – I was like why? The restaurant had very few patrons so clearly there was time. He said he can put amounts on different credit cards, but if I and my wife wanted to pay just for our order, we couldn’t. I asked, we ordered 2 dishes, 7.95 each, why can’t we get a receipt that shows that and pay it. He said you can’t. I am like, if we came in separately, you would allow this – but just because we sat near each other you are not?
The worst thing is he didn’t understand this. He couldn’t argue back, as again, he had no logical reason to deny this. I am like this is unreasonable – he looks at me and says you are being unreasonable. I told him this is perfectly normal and everyone allows this, and that he would get his total, and hell even 18% gratuity. He’s like no they don’t. Then I was like lets call somewhere, pull out my phone and began dialing – and he was like we are just a small restaurant trying to survive. Big restaurants can do this. Well buddy, if you are a small restaurant treat the few customers that actually show up at your place well. If you are trying to survive, how can you afford to lose a group of customers over something so silly.
Moreover, he had a coupon posted on his website for $5 off two entrees. That night he was like we allow only 1 per night. I am like for every customer here tonight, he’s like “Yes”. Our group had over several entrees, plus other customers there as well that saw the coupon. The very next morning, I saw the coupon was taken off the site. When asking to redeem the coupon, he said “we can’t just give food away for free.” Again, it is shocking how this restaurant operates when first the dishes are overpriced (8.95 for a curry, which in the city you can get for 5.95 or 6.95), and on 2 of them (18 bucks) you deduct 5 bucks, its all of a sudden free? I have yet to see 13 = 0 in any math textbook and the average of 6.50 a plate is certainly not low in the area.
Anyways, this place is not worth your time – the close by Dusita seems to have a better shot (though I have never been there). The city definitely has much better places.

Pad Kee Mao
This translates to drunken noodles and is supposed to be an intense dish – well not here. The worst thing is being charged for chili when you told them you wanted it hotter than their hottest.

- My meal cost
- between $10 and $25
- I tipped
