The stealth burger joint

Located in a strip mall the only way you would find this restaurant is knowing it is there! Once inside you queue up to place your order and hope a table opens up by the time your food arrives. We were lucky and didn’t have any problems getting a seat for us. They had highchairs as well, which made it easier with our son.

I had high hopes for these burgers given what I had read about them and while I was not disappointed I don’t think I would be making the trek back to VA to have another. They offer a variety of toppings, from the traditional like cheese and bacon to the high end like foie gras! There are also different rubs you can have on your burger such as a blackened or a chipotle. Perhaps if I had gone for one of these other options it may have put my burger over the top! Burgers are cooked to order and nice and thick. Mine was a little overcooked which could have been part of the problem as well.

I did enjoy the sides that they had – corn on the cob, a respectable mac and cheese and potato salad to name a few. They also have a wonderful draft rootbeer which I highly recommend. No french fries though they do have potato chips. We didn’t get dessert, but they serve Moorenko’s which is some of the best in the area.

Service here was quite good – they keep the place clean and try to help you find a table.

if you are looking for a casual meal with a solid burger and sides, this is a place worth checking out. While I wouldn’t make the journey to go back for a burger, I would happily go if I was in the neighborhood. (Note that Ray’s the Steaks has the same owners and that IS worth the drive from wherever you are!!)
