Amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing. Super fresh, nei...

Amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing. Super fresh, neiman ranch organic meats full of flavor like nothing i’ve ever had before. I’ve been a couple times, I can’t really go on a regular basis because it is a little pricey for a college student (hey, its a nice deli and the ingredients are the freshest ever, why shouldnt it be?), but when i do go it’s such a treat! I always leave feeling very happy and light, which is a lot to say considering i end up eating a lot! Latkes are amazing, so is the deli hash, and pretty much everything else on the menu.

jewish and middle eastern deli

Saul’s is a deli in the northern portion of Berkeley, near Safeway. It offers food such as reubens, omelettes, falafels, salads, and such. I liked how the restaurant had character, with small little details in their menu and restaurant that I found amusing. While a reuben did sound very appealing, I stuck with an omelette which had three different kinds of meat inside! It was meaty and delicious, and came with crispy hashbrown. I did try some sort of corned beef hash dish too, and it was alright, but nothing amazing. Someone also ordered a salad, and while it looked fairly tasty, it did not look filling at all. I think that the restaurant is kinda pricey for some of its dishes.

The restaurant offers kosher meals and a special meal for people during passover and stuff like that. The service was solid, and pretty on top of things. It’s an OK place to go to check out some foods such as latkas, reubens, and matzah ball soup.

I am not sure if there is the word “ozzie” in front since I forgot, but oh well. It is a pancake like omelette, with salami, corned beef and pastrami (I think) embedded in it. A sweet omelette to get if you love meats such as those, which I do. The hashbrown was also well done, since it was very crisp all around.
