Al Fresco Italian

I ate in their patio on a perfect Friday afternoon. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The service was excellent, valet parking wasn’t too bad for $8, and I did not have to wait to get a table. Their pastas were very good.

The homemade gnocchi was veryvery good. I usually like gnocchi to be fluffy and not dense. This place had such fluffy gnocchi to die for. I just wished the sauce wasn’t so salty. But overall the gnocchi with a tomato creams sauce w/ porcini mushrooms, pancetta, and Italian sausage was good.

    It was a little dry.

I really like this spicy penne dish. It was perfectly al dente.

The fried calamari should have had a crispier outside.

expect a wait

i’ve tried eating here 3 times, and each time had to find another place b/c the wait times were so ridiculous. i finally came here on a saturday night w/a reservation, but still ended up waiting 30 minutes. (!)

but…the food was good and the service was friendly. be prepared for heaping mounds of food!

i was a little caught off guard b/c this risotto was tomato-based (i was expecting a white creamy base). cooked al dente and littered w/fresh clams, mussels, and shrimps. very salty. ginormous serving size – i got 3 meals out of it.
