I’m from the Deep South (Georgia) so here in Denver I am skeptical about BBQ – normally it is mediocre KC style for too expensive. But I absolutely loved Brickyard.

I got the BBQ pork sandwich as a special with baked beans. They serve sandwiches on plain Texas toast (the proper way) instead of buns and a sandwich is about 6oz. Stout and cheap for this area. The baked beans were ok – not heavily laden with uncooked onions and they’d been simmering for long enough to be soft, unlike so many other places around.

The pork itself was awesome. Not dry from being smoked 2 days ago or from being oversmoked to a crisp – this was some juicy goodness and it wasn’t all full of gristle and fat wads.

They put 2 sauces on the table – the hot one was excellent. It’s got that buildup-style heat where you start to feel it at the end of the meal.

This is in the old Nono’s building. For 6.79 I was absolutely pleased. The rest of the menu was reasonably priced for the portion sizes they advertised. A must-try for any bbq lover
