From the Restaurant
Excelsior is a modern restaurant with a contemporary, yet uncomplicated approach to food. Chef Eric Brennan’s focus is on ingredients — unique, pure, and fresh. Using innovative and recognizable flavors, Brennan’s menu presents food that is straightforward in description and inventive in presentation. “Three-Stars…with Eric Brennan in the kitchen you're guaranteed a refined and rewarding dining experience,” raves Mat Schaffer of the Boston Herald. Complementing Brennan’s menus is the award winning 600+ bottle wine list. Excelsior’s Wine Program received awards from Food & Wine, Wine Spectator and Boston Magazine in 2004. This impressive collection, representing all regions of the world, is showcased in a climate controlled 3-story wine tower located in the center of the restaurant. Your culinary and visual experiences are sure to be memorable. Dress Code is Business Casual in the Bar, Jacket suggested in the Dining Room.

Very trendy design, enjoy the elevator ride from the bar to the dining floor where you see the restaurant’s entire collection of wines. bread was fantastic, offered 3 different types, and all the food ranged from very good to excellent. it’s a nice place to splurge on a romantic date, and also a decent spot to hit if you’re a foodie with some extra cash laying around.

The decor was chic, the food was decent, and the crowd gravitates towards 30+. The wine selection and bar were excellent. Highlights include possibly the best bread basket in Boston and the glass wine rack elevator. Recommendations: don’t skip the raw menu items and wear business casual attire. Note to the money conscious: the markup on wines at this restaurant is close to 200% and drinks from the bar average around $14.
