Classic Berkeley Institution perfect for Brunch
Great little restaurant nestled in the foothills of Berkeley that serves classic breakfast and lunch food. Their pumpkin pancakes are can’t-miss items. The ollalliberry jam is also something that everyone should try. It sits in a nondescript jar on the table, but it’s just pure goodness slathered on any and everything that could use a pick-me-up.
Service is great and quite endearing. The ladies there give the impression that they’ve been working there for a while and have loved their time spent there.

A different flavour that you won’t see all too often but they do it just right.

Classic berkeley fare
If you live near the NW side of campus this is a great breakfast place that’s a little off the main thoroughfares. We started coming here almost 8 years ago and the food has been consistenly good. I usually get one of the fine omelettes or scrambles, but almost everything tastes good here and it feels pretty healthy too.

Vegetarian Omelette
Served with tasty home potatoes and choice of pastry
-
Qualeberry Cornmeal Scone
Real fresh and soft. Not very sweet, but there’s jam at the table if that’s your preference.
-
Pumpkin Pancakes
7 medium sized fluffy pancakes. Real moist and tasty.
excellent pastries and breakfast
This a good place to go for breakfast or brunch, especially since it also functions as a bakery. Their baked items such as the scones and turnovers are fresh and tasty. Their pancakes are also very good, especially the pumpkin pancakes. The french toast is solid, though I personally have had better. The egg is nothing too remarkable. The sausage has a good texture and the skin isn’t too tough. The pastries are probably the best thing here. I can’t say much about the lunch or dinner items. The restaurant is somewhat small, but somewhat homely.

Pumpkin Pancakes
They are really moist and delicious. The sizes are smaller than normal size, but you can get up to seven of them!
-
French Toast Special
It is a solid dish, but doesn’t come with a pastry and not enough food for some.
