From the Restaurant
Pleasantly chaotic, Jacques-Imo's fills early with locals & out-of-towners alike, especially during Jazz Fest. Sample savory specialties from chef/owner Jack Leonardi & legendary Creole chef Austin Leslie. Jacques blends culinary styles with joyful abandon, resulting in creative cuisine emphasizing local seafood. Sample the oyster-filled eggplant Jacques Imo bathed in rich shitake mushroom cream, the decadent deep-fried roast beef po' boy or a tomato-based "Cajun bouillabaisse" laced herbs & a generous supplied of oysters, shrimp, mussels & shrimp. Crisp, tender & perfectly prepared, Leslie's trademark fried chicken could make the Colonel weep. NOTE: Jacques-Imo's does not take reservations for parties of less than 5 guests.

the only reason i believe so many people enjoy this place is the owner gets them drunk while they wait for their table. this man just creates a greatest hits of new orleans restaurants and passes them off as his own. not worth the time or money.

I was told I had to try this place, so while I was in New Orleans I headed up past the Garden District to give it a try. It’s very popular with the locals, so expect a wait.
After looking over the menu, I realized it wasn’t the best idea to head here without looking at a menu, it was mostly seafood (that looked fantatic) but I just don’t eat it.
I settled for a chicken dish that was quite good, but it was very clear seafood was the specialty.
