Great hefeweizen!
I can’t review much about the food here, b/c the one time I went I wasn’t very hungry and I think I shared half a BBQ chicken pizza (pretty much the same thing you’d get at CPK, nothing extraordinary), but the hefeweizen. WOW.
Let’s clarify here that I am not a beer drinker. I never order beer. Ever. At parties, I rarely even take free beers. I just don’t like beer. It doesn’t taste good to me, and I prefer other beverages. But it just so happened that the time I went to Los Gatos Brewing Co I had just returned from a week long conference in Vegas, so I felt like having an alcoholic drink. And the hefeweizen, which was described as having a banana undertone to it, sounded good.
And yes… it was amazing!!! It had a sweetness to it that really did have an undertone of banana, and it didn’t really have any of the yeastiness that makes me not like beer. Light, cold, and sweet, it was the perfect beer to me. I drank the entire pint (which never happens) and still kind of wanted more.
I still don’t like beer, but I crave that hefeweizen.

Light, cold, and sweet with banana undertones. The closest thing to a dessert beer I think I’ll ever find.
