Chinese home cooking at decent prices...
Last night, after playing tennis, my friends and I went to Toy’s Cafe new location for some well earned food. We were coming close to closing time, so somethings were not on the menu, such as scallion pancakes. So, we started off with marinated seaweed and jellyfish. Both were served cold and tasted good. We then shared a beef noodle soup with tendons and a Malaysian noodle dish. The noodle soup was at the right spiciness and the beef was very tender. The noodles were a bit chewier than I would like but still good. The Malaysian noodle dish was very good, right balance of curry flavor with the meats and veggies. Overall, a good place for good food at affordable prices.

Everytime when I crave beef noodle soup HK/Taiwanese style I will go to this place if I am on the Eastside :)
I have not been for a while but found out that they moved a couple of blocks on main st. I got my usual when I go there (the half beef, half tendon noodle soup). I decided to get them bbq style this time (non-spicy), but the szechuan one is very good and is what I usually order.
All in all a good chinese joint that I frequent when I crave authentic chinese dishes!
Decent Chinese Menu
The inside of the restaurant looks like any normal chinese restaurant. Not too big but its fairly nice.
I have never tried the usual english menu. I’ve always ordered from the chinese menu. The appetizers look pretty good. They have different styles of dumplings – pan fried, or ones in sauce.
What I usually order: 1. half beef- half tendon sichuanese noodles in soup 2. green onion pancake 3. deep fried tofu
