Great deal keeps me coming back
Verde Tea Cafe’s tea isn’t the best I’ve ever had, but they have a great deal where if you spend $5 or more, you get a buy one drink get one drink free coupon on your next purchase. The only catch is that it expires at the end of the month they give it to you… but it’s never been a struggle for me to be able to use that coupon!
Verde’s milk tea is shaken, so there’s always a frothy layer on the top of their drinks. Their tea definitely tastes a lot more watery than milk tea from Fantasia, Tapioca Express, or QCup, which I initially didn’t like — however, now I like it better than all those other places because the tea isn’t overly sweet and it’s just a lighter taste. Also, if I want a flavored milk tea, I like that the tea flavor isn’t too strong so you can really taste the flavoring without having to use a ton. I usually order the regular, taro, strawberry, peach, or lychee milk tea here.
However, the thing I like best about Verde is their thick toast! Man, that stuff sure is tasty! Their peanut butter thick toast is the best; somehow whatever peanut butter they use is a thousand times better than any peanut butter I’ve ever had. I’ve tried to make this myself at home, and my peanut butter is just never the same. If you have a sweet tooth, you may also want to try a combo of chocolate and peanut butter thick toast. That’s great too. The thick toast is kind of expensive (one piece will basically cost you just slightly less than if you bought a whole loaf of bread), but during certain times of the day they have great combo deals.
The other great thing about Verde is their crispy chicken. Don’t expect American fried chicken — the Verde chicken isn’t as breaded, and has more flavor to it. It’s cut into little bits, and you eat it by spearing each piece with a skewer, so it makes for a great snack. It’s not spicy, so it’s easy to eat a lot of this stuff. As a nice touch, they sometimes toss in a few pieces of regular and sweet potato fries. While the fries aren’t that good, I like having something else to munch on.

Regular milk tea
If you like strongly flavored or very milky tea, this probably isn’t for you. However, if you like something lighter, Verde milk tea fits the bill. Buy $5 worth, get a buy one get one free coupon for your next visit.

Crispy chicken
One of my favorite mid-day snacks.
