"fine food without fine dining"

… that’s the theme of the restaurant, and i felt that it definitely delivered! the food was really high quality and the entrees were the kind of stuff you would expect at a fancy restaurant, but in larger portions and w/o the fancy environment. (the place actually was most reminiscent of a saloon, but quieter. and really clean.) i mean, how often can you eat fancy food in a cozy booth?

if fancy food isn’t what you are feeling tho, there’s also an ample selection of casual fare that is less expensive, but still generous portions! (in my “quick bites”, i reviewed the best of each category, based on the 6 dishes i saw/tried tonight :))

if you are in the seattle area, please give this restaurant a try!! i don’t think you’ll be disappointed… it looks really far north (i mean, lake city??), but it’s actually just a few minutes north of the u. district area.

a few caveats tho:

  • the service was attentive, friendly and personable, although i don’t feel that this would be the place to go to grab a “quick” meal :)
  • this meal can become a little pricey, especially if you buy drinks from their full bar and selection of specialty cocktails (as we did).
  • i think the menu changes seasonally (read: pretty often!), so be sure to check the website for the latest offerings if you are in the mood for something specific!
What I ate:

i didn’t order this dish myself, but one taste of my friend’s plate and i knew that i would order this the next time i came to the jones! seriously delicious!

this burger IS really good. for me tho, the best part is that it is served with greeeeeat fries… and i don’t just say those words lightly; it’s hard for me to find french fries that suit me, but these are perfect — crispy, but yet still potato-y :)

most mojitos have a really strong rum taste, but this one had been like steeped with mint for days, so it was reallly smooth tasting!
