It’s a great place for hot pot and barbecue,...
It’s a great place for hot pot and barbecue, though the bbq portion doesn’t compare to a real Korean barbecue place. Nevertheless, the food is overall very good, and more importantly, it’s a ton of fun when you go with a bunch of Cal college buddies. It’s not too pricey for what you’re getting…between 14-16 dollars usually.
Decent hot pot, lacking in meat.
For those of you who love Hot Pot, this might be the place to go. Selection is decent, although I’d love to see more selection.
As for BBQ it’s not that great. The meat comes out with very little taste and hinges on whether your own sauce is good enough. The soy sauce has a weird scent to it too, and the lack of black vinegar is disturbing especially when they offer dumplings. Moreoever, there’s just a lack in types of meat. For those of you who expect Korean BBQ, you’ll be disappointed.
This is clearly an imitation of the larger and more popular Hot Pot City in Milpitas, CA.
I’ve visited both and I conclude the Milpitas one is far superior.
The one thing that’s great is the late night special. $10.99 for an all you can eat? Great. At $14.99, I’m less likely to visit this place. To me, it’s only worth it when visiting during late night.
