My husband and I decided to try The Matador on...
My husband and I decided to try The Matador on our way home from golf last night. He really wanted a rib eye steak or a burger, and I really wanted Mexican food, so what to do? The Matador was a great solution! Kevin had the spicy rib eye there, and he said it was a “taste explosion”--he was happy to report that the meat was SUPER spicy with the chile butter sauce. I had a safe option, the Red Chile Enchilada with shredded chicken. It had to have been one of the best enchiladas I’ve had (maybe in the top three)! The chicken was tasty (didn’t taste like frozen chicken, like most of the enchiladas I’ve had), there was just enough cheese on the top, and there was plenty of tasty pico de gallo all over it. It was delicious. My only complaints are that I wish they put more cheese inside the enchiladas and more sauce over it--the sauce was skimpy and just baked on. The chips and salsa we received at the start were some of the best I’ve had as well—the salsa was spicy with a grilled flavor and the chips tasted honestly fresh. The ambiance was sexy and inviting as well. The staff was so-so… a bunch of attractive young women that didn’t look like they wanted to be there. Not too friendly. Overall, I’d highly recommend The Matador as a refreshing alternative to your typical Mexican or South Western restaurant.

The food was good. I had Pan Roasted Halibut and liked it. The waitress, though, didn’t know what kind of rice they have, when I asked if they have brown rice. She said “it’s not white”, while in reality it’s just seasoned white rice. Once they get staff that knows their food, it would be much better. :)
