Rio Rico is under new ownership/management as of June 1,2008 and the change is immediately felt as soon as you walk through the door. Friendly smiling faces and attentive service – a welcome change..!

The bar choices have improved greatly with MANY more tequila and specialty drink options; the award winning Margarittas are absolutely phenominal.!

The menu hasn’t changed much, but expect several changes shortly according to Jackie Pierson, proprietor.

Friday and Saturday evening they serve old-world handmade tortillas – what a treat..!

Great location, great layout. What’s with the food? Dried out, greesy and bland. North county San Diego has a billion mexican restaurants. Why does the one with the best location and most restaurantish vibe serve such mediocre food? Rio Rico reminds me of a Laguna beach night club. Enter on the ground level, go up stairs for some fun and great food and what you get is far from it.

I love rio rico for its ambiance and friendly staff. The food is delicious too! This is the perfect little getaway restaurant right in our backyards!

i really enjoy the grilled chicken tacos at rio rico. the prices are decent, there is NEVER a wait to be seated. my only complaint is they don’t always get your order correct – sometimes the tacos will come out with cabbage (instead of lettuce) or some type of white cheese (instead of their usual cheddar).... the tacos taste great though, none-the-less.
