Best Soul Food/International Restaurant in Philly!!

This is my all time favorite restaurant in Philly. The food is unbelievable. The portions are huge and everything is well worth every penny. I recommend the fried shrimp or the stir fry dishes. They are out of this world. The environment is very warm and friendly. The staff is excellent and on top of your every need. The owner even comes out to greet you and ask how your food is. You dont find that too often at most restaurants these days. You wont regret your visit and I guarantee you will be sure to return.

Outraged in Philadelphia

I had the worst experience ever at this establishment. The food was good and the waitress was pleasant but the owners, Tom and Diane, as well as the cashier are all rude and disrespectful. I was given my bill today for one amount and then the cashier rung it up a different amount. When I asked about why I was being charged a different amount, I was told the initial bill was incorrect, yet no one communicated that to me before charging my credit card. I went on to explain that common courtesy as well as appropriate customer service would be to let a customer know if there was a change in the bill prior to charging the customer’s credit card. The cashier displayed an attitude and rude. I asked to speak with a manager and when one of owner’s Tom was approached by the cashier, he said “I don’t have time to talk to her”. As I was not satisfied, the cashier called the other owner Diane to address the situation. I overheard Diane speaking with both the cashier and the waitress about what transpired. She approached me disrespectfully and did not even ask to hear what my complaint was. Once she finally heard my concerns, I also addressed the nasty attitude of her cashier. She proceeds to confront the cashier with me present and asks me to tell the cashier what my “problem” was. How inappropriate…All of this was done in front of other customers, who had been waiting for 45 minutes for their breakfast order (takeout) and had requested their money back twice from the cashier who ignored their request and told them their food would be up in a minute. The owner clearly had no intentions on even apologizing for what the cashier did and did not address the disrespect of her cashier. I told the owner that I was very disappointed, wouldn’t return and that this experience was a disgrace. She and the cashier made comments like “It was only four dollars” and “you would go to a white establishment and wait two hours for service”. How irrelevant and inappropriate. I was very disappointed and embarrassed by the way the owners handled this situation. I would never, ever spend money in their establishment. If you choose to go there, I suggest you pay in cash and check your bill before and while paying. My overall recommendation is DO NOT go there. It was not worth the good food and I do not condone such inappropriate behavior from owners who think they can treat people anyway they want to because they already got their money and have a so what…it’s only one customer attitude.

Dishes I tried:
