What a tremendous spot – owned and run by lovely Bonnie – she and her hard-working staff made our experience effortless and relaxing. We were up from MA visiting my parents complete with our 9-month-old daughter and 2 small dogs (our dogsitter fell through – our beloved dogs weren’t originally supposed to be there with us.) Well, I knew that Divine had a great small deck connected to the restaurant, and so I was hopeful that most of our party would be able to snag a deck table near the parking lot. We assumed that one of us would need to eat their meal picnic-style, keeping our beloved dogs company outside the car somewhere near the deck. It was more humid than was forecast, so we wanted to be sure to keep our aging Pug well watered and as cool as possible.
Bonnie urged us to have the two dogs sit at our feet by our table, permitting us to sit together as one big happy family – how wonderful!
Beyond Bonnie’s graciousness and warm hospitality, the food was absolutely delicious – fresh, local, prepared with great care and appealing to both eye and palate. Bravo!!!!
Per the title of my review, a wonderful spot like this has been a long time coming in Exeter. I will always have fond memories of past Loaf n Ladle meals, but Divine Café blows them out of the water when it comes to selection, ambiance, quality, parking, you name it! There is truly something for EVERYONE on their menu (including a thoughtful children’s menu)…
We will definitely be making it a point to stop in there for breakfast and/or lunch whenever future travels bring us close by!
