From the Restaurant

Asiate presents an artistic and modern approach to contemporary cuisine with Asian influence, served in Asiate's environment of simplicity, elegance, balance and vitality. Located on floor 35 of Mandarin Oriental, New York in the Time Warner Center, Asiate offers stunning views of Central Park and Manhattan skyline. Designed by acclaimed restaurant designer Tony Chi, the dramatic entrance to Asiate features floor-to-ceiling walls of wine which house an impressive collection of over 1,300 bottles. A glittering tree-branch sculpture hangs from Asiate's ceiling, replicating the trees in Central Park.

Come for great view; leave for great food

The views of the park are simply breathtaking, but you can accomplish something similar by going to any number of bars or restaurants at the nearby Time Warner building—and your palate will be much more satisfied.

True, I went a few months after opening, so maybe the menu just didn’t have time to congeal, but there were so many issues. Portions too large. Waitstaff too in-your-face. I got a guilt trip for not finishing my food. Are you kidding me?! Maybe if it tasted better….I ordered a duck confit with some sort of white bean ragout, and while everything was cooked properly, the flavors were just… nothing stood out. Completely forgettable.
