South Street Staple
When folks think of Philadelphia, they think of cheesesteaks. South Street is a frequent meeting place when I am in the city and folks want to eat cheesesteaks. Jim’s is as convenient as they come.
Personally, I prefer Geno’s and Pat’s, but there is nothing wrong with Jim’s. The steak is plentiful . . . the cheese and onions too.
It is always crowded here, given the location. There may be other things on the menu, but I have never tried any. I normally order a cheesesteak with fried onions and peppers topped with ketchup. Good stuff!

that's steak
As one of the heralded possesives of Philly cheesesteak royalty (Pat’s, Geno’s, Dalessandro’s… heck, there are a million cheesesteak places named after someone), Jim’s does not disappoint. The bread is average and prices are a bit high, but when you bite into a Jim’s, you know your mouth becomes alive with the taste of high quality steak. Just thinking about it makes me salivate. You can’t go wrong if you’re in the area.
Located on 4th and South Street, Jim’s is located in the heart of all the madness of the area. People watching and a characters of all sort will add to the experience of tasting the best steak in the area.
