Last night, I went to the second Grand Opening of the new Drago’s at the Hilton Riverside. It was also Drago’s 85th birthday—the man, not the restaurant. And it was spectacular.
The charbroiled oysters are head and shoulders above any other oysters served in the city. They were spectacular. The lobster was fantastic. And the salad with huge chunks of white crabmeat had people clamoring for more. There were soups and pastas, and fried shrimp.
I could go on and on. This restaurant was once the hidden gem of locals, but with the new location, I suspect the secret is out.
The food is consistently wonderful. The service is great. And the family that owns the restaurant are among the nicest here in the city.
If you haven’t gone, you need to go. You won’t be sorry.
