From the Restaurant
Serving "Fresh and Sexy" fare since 1985. Rated by Zagat as "one of the top dining choices in the Castro" 2003/2004. A unique style of East-West fusion cuisine that has been bringing neighbors, celebrities (don't make us name drop!) and visitors through the door for nearly 20 years. For starters - Nobody brings home the squid like SUMI. This is a calamari to be remembered. Wasabi cured sturgeon nigiri, the best in town duck confit, are just a few luscious ways to get the party started. Entrée selection may be difficult, but not to worry, Miso roasted chicken has been receiving rave reviews from day one. Melt in your mouth pork, lamb, fresh fish, and tender beef filet are all prepared with precision and care. Our desserts will not let you down. Seasonal fruit “upside-down” cake, Schaffenberger chocolate cake, and crème brulee, will complete this affair perfectly. Relaxed, cozy, and warm surroundings combined with quiet grooves and the friendliest service around awaits you.

Yummy sumi for me
Located in the castro, it’s a hidden gem that’s a block off Market. The atmosphere has a creative flair to it: nice enough for a date, hip enough to be in the castro and delicious enough to have you coming back for more.
This is a great place to take a date or some close friends for a chill, laid back dinner. They succeed at creating interesting and tasty asian fusion dishes that leave your mouth watering for more.
The prices are decent. I wouldn’t come here in sweats. Don’t forget to leave room for dessert!
