Excellent Service and Food

On the recommendation of a friend I took my family to Bellinis. The server who waited on us was excellent and very professional. The food from the appetizers to the desserts were the best we have had in a long time. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent Food, Drinks and Service

Recently visited for the first time. I though the pricing on the Bellinis and Martinis were excellent. I paid $11 for a bellini an and my wife paid $9. We tried one of their recently created pizzas and it was wonderful. My wife had the barramundi and it was the best piece of fish. I had a medium rare filet and rate it better than flemmings. We highly recommend this ristorante.

What I ate:
  • *****

Excellent piece of fish. Light and fluffy.

  • *****

Cooked perfectly and served with fried risotto cake.

I did not enjoy the food or the experience

1. I am still in shock from the culinary experience last night. Based on some good word of mouth reviews me and a friend of mine who is a chef I tried the place but little did we know that it would turn out to be one of the worst dining experiences in a long, long, time. The website of the restaurant is nice and detailed, the chefs descriptions are offered earnestly and to the credit of the restaurant the ambiance was nice.

The appetizer “Fritto Misto Di Mare” was not spectacular – two shrimp, two scallops, Calamari, and a piece of fish seasoned with salt and pepper and lightly fried in flour served with stock marinara sauce. Although, the marinara was so chunky that it could hardly be used as a dipping sauce. Though the presentation was nice the taste was very ordinary and an assortment of much more engaging dipping sauces would have helped the cause. Was interested in trying another appetizer but after this experience we decided to hold off.

The toasted bread arrived just before the entrees and it does deserve a compliment.

To the two entree selections; let’s just say the appetizer tasted way better. I ordered the chef’s special featuring the Pacific Barramundi which was described as tasting like grouper. The other entree was the stuffed eggplant parmesan. The presentation of both entrees was rather poor and unappetizing.

The Barramundi fish was served on a risotto of sorts. Two pieces of fish covered in bread crumbs soggy with oil laid on top of some spinach leaves with the risotto more like (a watery porridge than a creamy flowing risotto). The fish did taste like grouper but the soggy factor made the fish difficult to enjoy and the texture of the risotto was not endearing. Overall, the entree did not hold together in taste or texture.

I do not weigh food in terms of the cost but in this instance this seafood item was not even close to worthy of $30.

The stuffed eggplant parmesan in marinara sauce with Zucchini was very bland and unsatisfying to the palate. The same stock marinara sauce poured over the dish was also used as the spaghetti sauce. Upon trying the item I concluded that the seasoning and the texture were not up to par. The presentation of the item left a whole lot to be desired. Rather surprisingly, the penne pasta served with the entree arrived separately and it is was just as unenthusiastic as the rest and not very fresh.

A good portion of the food could not be eaten and we asked for the check and made our way out just stunned at the entire experience. As a dessert enthusiast I wasn’t even willing to stick around and give it a try.

I really hope that this was just a very bad night at the restaurant and the Chef was out sick and somebody in the kitchen really messed up. Otherwise, I am just at a loss to explain that such a promising place offered such a poor and unimpressive experience other than the obvious.
