Dutch Wooden Shoe Cafe

This cozy Dutch/Indonesian restaurant on Cambie Street in Vancouver was worth a visit, but ever since John Dijs sold this business the management of this restaurant has been slipping steadily. The food is consistently good to great, but the lack of comfortable seating in narrow aisles with poor lighting (lack of big windows), poor cleanliness (dirty carpets and tables), and mediocre service from the serving staff should drive every customer away. We walked out of this restaurant after waiting for almost 1/2 hour before the serving staff bothered to tend our table and waited another 15 minutes before leaving. Lunch should be served within 15 to 20 minutes on a working day and the Dutch Wooden Shoe Cafe can’t manage that!!!
