El Sombrero

During my recent visit to Longview, TX, a friend of mine who is a Longview native suggested we go to El Sombrero. I have never been so dissapointed with service, quality of food, and atmosphere in a restaurant as I was with this one. To begin the silverware was nasty, when I asked for another set the waiter mumbled “Pinches gringos” in spanish to the buss boy next to him which translates to “stupid whites”. Both of our orders came out wrong, and we sent them back. Our new order was cold and burned. The waiter had a bad attitude from the get go and just got worse as the night moved on. When we confronted the “manager” who we later found out was the owners mother about these issues she offered no solution. Moreover she would not provide us with her name nor the owners name. DINER BEWARE! The food is terrible, the service is terrible, and the atmosphere is awful, overall a most deplorable restaurant experiance. El Sombrero is not worth your time!
