El Verde Limon

The Cheap Ethnic Eatz group had an outing at a Peruvian restaurant called El Limon Verde. The decor was a bit odd, it seems to be an old dinner type place but it made for a cool environment. We had a private party room at the back. I think over all everyone enjoyed their experience quite a bit. The one thing that was perhaps surprising to most was the lack of spice. We all assume South or Central American food will be spicy…but that is hardly the case. Many of these countries offer a more bland cuisine. Nevertheless it was an excellent meal.

I had the Yukitas bravas (fried manioc) as an appetizer, followed by the Aji de Gallina (chicken dish in a yellow Peruvian sauce), and finally a really nice strawberry mousse for dessert. The meal was good, but not memorable. The service was a bit poor as well, did not like the waiter’s lack of professionalism.
