"break my piggy bank" tapas
this is one of those fancy upscale places that offers pretty looking, but small serving size tapas at not cheap prices. we ordered 4 dishes + sangria, and in the end, w/a $60 tab for 2 we were still hungry!
the ambience is an elegant cafe style and overall, was pleasant and not too noisy (unlike cafe iberico’s). the service left something to be desired, and the food although alright, was nothing to be raving about.
this place was so not worth it, quite disappointing.
to end on a positive note, i’d come back for the peach sangria – absolutely refreshing & delicious!
Dishes I tried:
TORTILLA A LA ESPAÑOLA CON ENSALADA
not a big fan of tortilla (why i can only give 3 stars), but i actually enjoyed this one. tasted fresh.
PATO CON COUSCOUS Y PIMIENTOS
4 thin slices of semi-dry duck on top of a huge mound of coucous. way more couscous than duck – booo!
FLAVORED SANGRIA
first time i’ve seen peach flavored sangria. it was the highlight of my meal. refreshing, light, fruity, and yum Yum YUM!!! i could’ve had a whole pitcher!
SALTEADO DE MARISCOS
big variety of seafood in this spiced-up seafood dish. quite tasty. just watch out for the squid – super rubbery!
Ciervo
tender venison (deer meat), big enough for 2. flavorful and served w/tomatoes, bread, potatoes.
