We went to Famoso on a Saturday night with our 4 y-o daughter. After standing at the door for almost 5 minutes, went to the bar and asked the bartender to have someone seat us; then we had to wait almost a half hour for the waitress to take our orders. We had simple food, pizza and pasta, and it was all good. Their wine and spirits selection was also decent. However, service was slow, although the waiters were nice and polite. On the bright side, they were nice to our daughter; had our food arrived at our table faster, we would have avoided the meltdown. Prices were not so bad, considering the neighborhood. If we go again, we’ll just make sure we order our food the minute they sit us at the table….

I dined at Famosa for restaurant week. My dish was a trio of pastas, while my partner’s was a tilapia dish. The tilipia was fantastic and showed a real flair, while the pasta dish was tasty but unimpressive.

The decor is chic but the atmosphere is very stuffy. I don’t care for dining in restaurants with such a controlled attitude – the staff was too uptight to even smile. From what I could ascertain, I was the youngest person dining in the restaurant and I wonder if this is a generational difference – I like to talk to my waiter and at least pay attention to them when they arrive at the table.

I waited 25 min. after the dessert plates were removed for the check to arrive – a rather dissappointing end to an odd dining experience.

Seven of us had dinner there and all were greatly disappointed at the tiny portions. This is more the pity because the food was tasty. However, we will never go back.
